What Our Customers Say

For over 30 years, the Sacramento Valley Shooting Center has been a home away from home for shooters across Northern California and beyond. From first-time visitors to long-time members, from students taking their first firearms class to competitive shooters chasing national titles—the feedback we hear most often is that there’s simply no place like Sac Valley. The land, the ranges, the community, and the culture keep people coming back year after year. Here’s what a few of them have to say.

The best public shooting range in the world as far as I’m concerned. This range is an absolute gem. I drive a little over an hour to shoot here in peace. The facilities are very clean, check in is always smooth, the RSOs are exceptional, a good variety of ranges really make this place a one stop shop. The safety here is amazingly comprehensive yet practical, and the corrections are always extremely kind and informative. This is a range manned by the salt of the earth, and it’s truly a blessing to shoot here! The way this range is operated should become the gold standard for all other ranges across the nation. I’ve been to ranges that require photo ID, allow federal agents to linger and antagonize law abiding citizens, employ overbearing/outright condescending RSOs, enforce 2 hr limits on your day’s shooting session year round; truly a shame! If you value a safe, welcoming, constructive, and hassle free shooting experience, please give these lovely folks your business. PS. Bill you are the kindest and most thoughtful range master ever!

Local Guide
I've been coming here for years and it's by far one of my favorite outdoor ranges. It's also one of the last remaining outdoor ranges unfortunately. Every time I come here the staff is helpful, courteous and professional. There have been very few incidents that I have witnessed and that's due to the keen eye of the range-master's. One of my pet peeves is an unsafe range and that's why my selection of ranges is very small. However I will say that safety etiquette is on you. Understanding basic firearm handling and safety is a must and will dictate your experience at any shooting facility. When you to there it's an expansive space that has something for every type of shooter. I typically do the rifle and hand gun stuff but they have a plinking area, trap, skeet, and even a 200-1000 yard area. If you're in the greater Sacramento Valley area, take a (long) scenic drive out to the country and enjoy a high level shooting experience at SVSC. If your sensitive to heat, plan accordingly lol.

Stopped by here first time ever shooting and I really enjoyed it! It was a safe controlled environment even with it being outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. They were more than happy to help walk me through how they run things. I also really appreciated how the information and knowledge they had to share. Even though its a 40 min drive for me, I definitely see myself becoming a regular!
