The Outlaws

About

The Outlaws cowboy action shooting club is SASS (Single Action Shooting Society) affiliated and follows the SASS rules. Our matches are held on the first Saturday of each month starting at 9 am at Diamond Dick’s Cowboy Town (Range 8) and consist of six stages and are scored on total time. Ammunition requirements may vary but are usually 60 rifle rounds, 60 pistol rounds, and a box of shotgun shells. Firearm requirements are typically pre-1900 design six shot revolvers, lever action rifles, and double barrel shotguns or 1897 design pump shotguns. Cartiridge calibers are .38 and/or .45.

Each new shooter is strongly encouraged to go to the Single Action Shooting Society website and download the “Shooter’s Handbook” for all rules and procedures.

The club provides a new shooter orientation to help new cowboy action shooters get started by teaching the safety rules and requirements for SASS participation. This is required before participating in your first match. Your instruction will include dress code, ammunition and firearms, shooting categories, scoring, safe gun handling, and typical shooting scenarios.

We encourage anyone interested, man or women, to come out while we’re shooting to get a better understanding of what we do. By the way, we have a number of excellent women shooters. We will be very happy to answer any questions and explain our fun sport. To help answer questions feel free to call the contact below. Come join our unique and special sport.
